After signing a letter of intent with Baylor University during the fall of 2005, I headed to Waco, Texas for my first taste of college baseball.

Facing big-name stars like Drew Stubbs, Evan Longoria and Max Scherzer was quite the thrill for an 18-year-old freshman.  During the summer of 2006, I transferred to Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina.  The tough competition continued as I squared off against the likes of Dustin Ackley, Brandon Crawford and Jason Kipnis.

Being an NCAA Division-I student-athlete was an incredible experience.
